Through-Life Systems Management

Singapore

      <dc:subject>Government & Policy</dc:subject>

Through-Life Systems Management(TLSM) approach has been adopted widely in translating warfighters’ requirements into effective and efficient acquisitions of programmes to deliver the required capabilities. However, while this framework has been proven effective, the task of planning systems’ lifecycle supportability and availability remains complex and challenging. One of the main reasons being, acquisition lifecycle don’t simply consider the process of acquiring one system, but also to capture and integrate the multiple interdependencies to deliver optimum systems of systems capability.

This 3-day course is planned to enhance the implementation of TLSM in delivering an optimum capability on systems of systems level. The course instructor will discuss intensively on management planning, documentation and control, framework performance metrics, supportability engineering analysis, managing technology insertion and obsolescence and systems disposal, among others. To ensure practicality of teaching, real world case studies will be discussed, along with syndicate discussion on persisting challenges that practitioners faced in ensuring lifecycle systems readiness.

Military Inventory Management

Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre

      <dc:subject>Government & Policy</dc:subject>

Militaries place heavy emphasis on the defence supply chain system because it supports strategic planning and operational readiness. However, efforts to control logistics costs over the years has shown little improvement, as some managers still preserve high level of inventory to ensure operational readiness. In today?s cost conscious environment, this style of management is under tremendous pressure, as militaries are expected to increase productivity and reduce logistics costs.

While inventory management is not a new concept in the military environment, managers are still grappling with issues of costs, shortage and oversupply of spare parts. These issues continue to persist in the current operational environment, possibly due to ineffective and inefficient inventory management practices, limitations in forecasting methodologies, and unproductive inventory strategies.

To address these issues, the 3-day course aims to review the key drivers to achieve inventory optimisation, identifying and managing challenges in military inventory management for spare parts. The trainer will highlight the pro and cons of traditional and advanced forecasting methods, operational management, performance based logistics, along with methodologies used to improve inventory retention level. The course will also discuss on KPIs and metrics to measure effectiveness in inventory management. Real world case studies will be discussed intensively to ensure practicality of learning.
Delegates will gain a working knowledge of UAS system classification, payloads, sensors, communications and data links. You will study the UAS design, development and fielding process through comprehensive case studies. The esoteric aspects of mission planning and human factors, including within multi-aircraft control environments, are described in detail. The critical issue of integrating UAS into civilian National Airspace is comprehensively covered as are the current state of regulations, STANAGS and national programs.
